Dr. Xiaowen Fan earned her medical degree from Shanghai Medical College, Fudan University, and completed her Internal Medicine residency at Mount Sinai St. Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital in New York City. Following her residency, Dr. Fan completed a Clinical Nutrition fellowship at Columbia University in New York City and then a Gastroenterology fellowship at the University of Florida in Gainesville, FL, where she served as Chief Fellow.
In addition to general gastrointestinal disorders, Dr. Fan has a special interest in managing various esophageal disorders. She is experienced in managing complex chronic liver diseases as well as performing a broad range of general gastroenterology procedures. In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Fan has contributed to academic medicine through her research and publications, including authoring a chapter on general nutrition in Yamada’s Textbook of Gastroenterology.
Dr. Fan is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology and the American Gastroenterological Association. She is fluent in both Mandarin and English. She is currently accepting new patients at Gastrointestinal Specialists of Georgia, P.C.
